Cafe

First things first… feel free to click on the heading - “Cafe”.  By doing so you will be opening up the whole entry.

The week has somehow flown by.

There have been a number of interesting moments in it.

Highlights:

Teaching Elle to read.  Pris taught four days.  During a Kiev day for Pris, I taught the letter “G”.

Meeting with Sergei and Lena again.  It was just nice being with them as well as a privilege to communicate how God has blessed our marriage as we have followed His principles.

april 2011 028Cafe night.  Last night, we had another cafe night in the disco hall.  We hardly had any students come out, which was a bit of a disappointment for us.  Dropping from 70 to 15 was a bit of a surprise.  Possibly one of the reasons so few came was due to the temperature – about freezing; with the room we used being only slightly warmer!  In spite of that, it was good to spend time with some of the students who came out.april 2011 011

We’ve been having Shane and Jemi over a lot which is pleasant.  They add spark and joy to our home.  Here’s Shane getting his sliced finger fixed up.

Priscilla’s Mom/Mum came and spent the week with us.  That was a rare treat.  Pris and the kids will go visit Rovno in a couple of weeks for Pris to have another course of massage.  Her neck is doing great, but more work needs to be done to strengthen it and part of that process involves massage.

I led the worship time at the gathering of the church again this Sunday!  It was something I enjoyed doing a lot.  Sunday afternoon, four of us decided to produce some sort of video presentation that lifts Jesus up before His church and that can add to our worship time.  If you’ve ever done something like this and know a good, but simple program that we can use, let us know before the 4th of April.  Windows Movie Maker will do the trick, but surely there’s a better program…?  I’m surprised at the enthusiasm I have for this!  Lifting Jesus up so that people see again the glory of their Lord probably isn’t a bad thing to get passionate about.  Not at all.

This morning, I read the story of the woman at the well as I sat in our guest bedroom warming myself next to the radiator but also feeling the draft come in through the cracks around the window.  I like the story a lot.  “Drink that water and you’ll thirst again,” He said.  Thirsty… that’s what those around me who don’t know Jesus are feeling.  They haven’t drunk the “water” He offers.  “Lord, make those with whom I interact even more thirsty and very aware of their need!  Amaze them just as you amazed the woman who lived 2000 years ago.”
