Well digging
Here is the hole-digging crew. Rough, tough bunch. It took two days of digging (super fast) to finish this off. 4.2m to the water – then another 1.5 meters. The total cost was about $400. The manner in which we got this crew was farcical, but they did a good job.
Here’s a pic of the house this morning. Beautiful weather. We are just about ready to put the polystyrene insulation on and start cladding. Today, just Igor and Andrei are on site. We have a list of young students we can call on for this week – last in the school year. Most of them go back to their parents during the summer. Only a couple of guys with no parents are staying to work with us.
We’ve already started planning for the end of summer break. It will be good to see what develops and good to see people excited about ministering to these kids.
Last week, we finally got our phone and internet turned back on. I picked up the two old friends from the telephone company who discovered a loose wire in one of the boxes. I wondered how many poles fall over as I watched it sway with Sergei hanging there.
Vlad… The Supreme Court chose to send his case back for a retrial. That is not exactly what we were all hoping for. It means that he will definitely have a longer jail stay than just this year. Sinful men are controlling this case… but they don’t have ultimate control over it. God is permitting this. Meanwhile, Vlad has to bear up under the injustice. May it bless him.
I just got a call that our little red car is working again! Whooooh! Pris is delighted. Talk about an ordeal. May it work for many a week now! :) Sergei, the mechanic is a real nice bloke and I enjoy interacting with him each time I have a car problem. Here’s a fresh photo I just took…
