Horse Graduation 18 years Parenting Course

Horse riding in the next village for Angel’s birthday.

Igor the Cossack led Elle round the yard after the guys came back from their forest trail excursion.  They all loved it.

I again went to the graduation ceremony of the students at the local institute.  I knew many of those graduating and it was again a bit of a disappointment knowing that most of them would be leaving Rzhyshchiv for a new life back in their home towns.  Vitya, in this photo, is coming back to Rzhyshchiv today and will work with us during the summer months.  I hope faith in Jesus gets planted deep into his heart during these next three months!

It was my pleasure to meet Igor’s Father last Saturday.  We drove north to near Chernobyl where they lived.  Igor hadn’t seen his dad for 18 years, so it was quite something!  We had to go find him at the old community farm (now private) where he works.  He commented that he hadn’t been paid for some months so the director wouldn’t be giving him too much hassle over leaving work in the middle of the day.  Igor couldn’t believe that nothing had changed inside the house for 18 years.  Everything was just as he remembered it!  We had a good day.

We got back a bit late to the parents course held that night.  I’ve particularly enjoyed getting to know Vika (in the green) and Andrei, her husband.  They are lapping up the information given and hopefully getting a deeper appreciation for God’s principles at the same time.

Esther, my sister, has arrived in country with her friends, Daniella and Timo.  Timo is staying with us and is already appreciated for his others-centeredness.  They will be here for several weeks and will have a ball with the young people.

And Jono is back, too.  It has been real good to see him again and enjoy his company.  I think the young people may be getting together to welcome him back tonight… probably upstairs.

I must go.  I have a trip to Kiev on my plate today.  Friday and Kiev are bad mixes actually, but it has to be done.
